Starting Something New: Our U-Cut Flower Program

There’s something different about picking your own flowers. It slows things down a bit. You walk the rows, take your time, and choose what actually stands out to you. Every bouquet ends up a little different, and that’s kind of the point.
This season, we’re excited to start building that experience here at Superior Nursery & Greenhouse.
We’ve always focused on growing strong, healthy plants that people can take home and build something with. A U-Cut flower field felt like a natural next step. Instead of just buying flowers, you get to be part of the process. It’s simple, but it changes everything.
We’re starting this program thoughtfully, with a mix of flowers that are easy to cut and work with, long-lasting in a vase, and grown to look good together. You’ll see things like sunflowers, zinnias, cosmos, snapdragons, and other seasonal blooms. The goal is to make it easy to walk in and create something that looks great without overthinking it.
When you arrive, you’ll check in at the greenhouse, grab a cup or container, and head out to the field to start cutting. If it’s your first time, we’ll give you a few quick tips, but after that it’s yours to explore. No rush, no pressure.
We’re not trying to overcomplicate this. It’s meant to be easy, relaxed, and something you can enjoy with friends, family, or even just on your own. Whether you’re putting together a full bouquet or just grabbing a few stems, it should feel natural.
Like everything we do, this will grow over time. We’ll learn what people love, what works best, and how to make the experience even better each season. This first year is about getting it started the right way.
If you’re in the Howell area, we’d love for you to come check it out once things are in bloom. We’ll share updates on timing, hours, and what’s ready as the season gets closer.
At the end of the day, this is about creating something a little more personal. You’re not just buying flowers. You’re choosing them, cutting them, and walking away with something that you put together yourself. And we think that’s worth doing.
